Our Favorite Celebrity Lifestyle Websites

Celebrities inspire a lot of our content.

From what they wear to projects they believe in, celebrities inspire the writers at Pink & Black to cover all things pop culture to keep readers up to date. However, we would have never guessed that bloggers like us would inspire celebrities.

Many celebrities have created their own websites and lifestyle blogs as a way to keep their fans up to date with things they are passionate about. Here are some of our favorites.

Jules

Most recently, Julianne Hough launched her own website, Jules. According to the site, Jules—as her friends call her—wanted to create a space where she could “connect with fans and friends about the things [she’s] most passionate about. We can share recipes, workout tips, talk about style, beauty and home décor.” The site is updated often with videos, recipes, stories, as well as fashion and inspiration.

LaurenConrad.com

Another lifestyle site we love is Lauren Conrad’s corner of the Internet. Not only are readers able to stay up to date on all things LC—such as her multiple clothing lines, books and appearances—but the site also provides articles on various topics like home decor, recipes, fitness tips and books. According to the site, “Lauren develops and runs her successful website LaurenConrad.com, an online destination that continues to expand her lifestyle brand and keeps her in direct contact with her supportive fan base.”

The Lo Down

A friend and co-star of Lauren’s, Lo Bosworth also created her own lifestyle destination. Since 2010, viewers of The Lo Down have been able to read about everything from food and fashion, participate in giveaways been and shop directly from the site. Lo’s YouTube channel is directly connected to her site. She posts beauty tutorials, delicious recipes and more.

Goop

Goop—possibly one of the most well-known, most talked about celeb blogs—started in 2008 and originally began as a weekly newsletter. Currently, “There’s a collective of people behind the brand, daily content and a roster of collaborations with some of our favorite designers to create wardrobe staples and special finds, turning Goop into a fully shoppable, lifestyle brand,” the site by Gwyneth Paltrow stated. Using Goop, you can explore places to travel and what they have to offer, different recipes, articles on relationships, career, parenthood and so much more.

Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls

While many celeb bloggers offer similar content, Amy’s Smart Girls by Amy Poehler takes a different spin on blogging. Co-founded by producer Meredith Walker, the idea originally started “as an online show for young girls and an excuse to host spontaneous dance parties,” according to the site.

Smart Girls has articles on various topics including women’s rights and history, female entrepreneurs, and different shows, such as Ask Amy, Girls of the World and Smart Girls at the Party. Overall, the site emphasizes “intelligence and imagination over fitting in. We celebrate curiosity over gossip. We are a place where people can truly be their weird and wonderful selves. We are funny first, and informative second, hosting the party you want to attend.”

Hello Giggles

Zooey Deschanel’s Hello Giggles offers a wide variety of content from the latest stories trending on the Internet to beauty and style trends, as well. The site was co-founded by Zooey’s friends Molly McAleer and Sophia Rossi.

The fun website covers everything from DIY projects and and beauty tips to TV, movies and nostalgia. Launched in 2011, the website is “the ultimate entertainment destination for smart, independent and creative females. Everything on the site will be lady-friendly, so visitors need not worry about finding the standard Boys Club content that makes many entertainment sites unappealing to so many of us,” Paste reported just after the website launched.

The Body Department

A lot of celeb sites have a lot in common—food, fashion and fitness. But, if you’re looking for a website specifically about fitness, health and overall well-being, check out Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson’s website, The Body Department. The site has posts about healthy recipes, music for working out and different workouts and challenges to take on. Shawn even started her own question and answer posts, Ask Shawn, because she was getting a lot of health and fitness related questions from fans on social media.

Preserve

Blake Lively spoke with Us Weekly in July 2014 about the launch of her website, Preserve. “Here at Preserve, there are people, stories, essays, videos and goods that hopefully inspire your home, your style and your tongue,” Blake told the magazine. “There’s expensive stuff. Inexpensive stuff. And everything in between. But their value, that’s up to you. We romanticize it, calling it treasure. What we’re simply saying is that we see their worth on every level.”

“Sitting down to write this editor’s letter has been the hardest thing I’ve done yet on my Preserve journey,” Blake admitted. “I’m more intimidated than I should probably admit. I’m no editor, no artisan, no expert. And certainly no arbiter of what you should buy, wear or eat.”

Amore & Vita

One of our favorite Pretty Little Liars, Shay Mitchell, started Amore & Vita with her friend Michaela Blaney. Amore & Vita—meaning love and life in Italian—takes a new approach to lifestyle blogging. According to the site, “Every week we will present you with a theme that inspired us and shaped all of the posts. From colors and patterns to places, ingredients and everything in between.”

Shay spoke with PEOPLE Magazine in August about her lifestyle site. “I work with so many amazing people, and they are so talented so I want to share their tales. Whether it’s the makeup artist who gets me ready for set, or the trainer I box with, they can give their tips and their ideas and it’s a more interesting and more well-rounded view.”

She even acknowledged she was a fan of other celeb sites including Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. “The shopping on our site will be more reasonably priced than Goop, because my demographic is younger,” Shay said. “But Gwyneth’s site is such a huge inspiration. I always go to her app when I’m traveling and look up restaurant suggestions. I love that she’s been to all those places and it’s about her real first-hand experience. It’s very aspirational.”

Creating and maintaining a blog isn’t easy, but if it makes a difference for even one person, it’s worth it. And we sure are glad these ladies put forth the effort.
