From The Editor: Year In Review

2014 was a weird year for me.

This was year of my adult debut and weird is the only way I know how to describe it because if I’m being completely honest, I’m still not used to it.

Here’s a basic review of my 2014:

I didn’t go to school. I graduated college in December of last year so for the first time since I can remember, I didn’t have tests to study for or homework to do at any point in 2014.

Not having any type of school in my life is an adjustment because I feel like I’m falling behind in some way, if that even makes sense. The idea of going back to school is something I’m considering, but not something I’ve committed to yet.

I bought a car for the first time. OK. So technically my aunt and uncle bought it for me, but I’m paying them back in payments. But, the car is in my name and everything, including insurance, is my responsibility. I’ve never owned anything so valuable.

I moved out. And I don’t mean move out like you “move out” to go to college. I legitimately moved out, kissed mom and dad goodbye and got my own official place where the utility bills are not included in the rent cost each month like it was at my college apartment. This is for real, guys.

I got a (real) job. One that comes with a 401(k) and health insurance. Like, the real deal. I still find it hard to believe sometimes. How did I get here?

What are some of the highlights from your year? I’d love to hear about them!
