Entertainment Classics From The ’90s Everyone Will Love

Our response to those who didn’t enjoy the ’90s: As if!

It was an amazing decade and we are going to remind you of all the amazing gems that came from this era.

Movies

You and your best friend probably wanted to be just like Cher and Dionne from Clueless and that’s because this movie made high school look like a blast!

We all couldn’t wait to meet our Josh, attend parties with the in crowd and go shopping at the mall without adult supervision. While we realized high school wasn’t exactly the way it was showcased, it sure was fun to live through the film.

Scary movies aren’t what they once were. Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer had the elements of a teen movie and the ability to completely freak you out. Heartthrobs Freddie Prinze Jr. and Ryan Phillippe fighting off the fisherman? Swoon! The guys weren’t the only heroes—Neve Campbell was the perfect role model in Scream and kicked ghost face butt!

The late Paul Walker may be known for his role in the Fast & Furious films, but those who really know him remember his ’90s hits She’s All That and Varsity Blues. Classic ’90s teen hits always ended with a big dance or a big game and both of these movies didn’t disappoint.

Music

Speaking of She’s All That and Varsity Blues, “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None The Richer and “My Hero” by the Foo Fighters from the movies’ soundtracks were most likely on repeat on your Walkman, erm, or at least you would rewind them when they ended.

Maybe you were more into dance music, which in that case, anything by Ace of Base, Aqua’s only hit “Barbie Girl” or C+C Music Factory were your jams.

So, “Everybody Dance Now!”

The Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera may have been more popular in the ’00s, but they started becoming popular around 1998. How do you feel about the ’90s now? Yes, they were glorious!

TV

’90s television was even more amazing than the movies and music. You probably didn’t realize that Carrie Bradshaw and friends have been strutting their stuff on the streets of NYC since the ’90s. Also, while we all loved the new season of 90210, it doesn’t top the Brenda, Kelly and Dylan love triangle. The CW doesn’t seem to have much success with television dramas these days and that’s because, let’s face it, there will never be another Dawson’s Creek.

Before Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt were scream queens and Lacey Chabert was a mean girl, they were the coolest family in Party of Five. Don’t even let us get started on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. We love vampires now, but back then we were all about Sarah Michelle Gellar kicking vampire tail.

You may remember Claire Danes recently took home the Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series. She took home that very same award in 1995 for her role in My So-Called Life.

We could go on and on about the ’90s and how amazing they were. We can save the ’90s cartoons and Goosebumps books for another time. We suggest you slap on a choker, low-rise flare jeans, a crop top, grab your Walkman and binge watch as much ’90s movies and shows as possible and be prepared to fall back in love. We’re outtie!
