Sometimes you just want to treat yourself.Instead of walking down the beauty aisles at your local Target or Walmart, you just want to step into a store and be surrounded by soaps, lotions, body washes, candles and perfumes galore. Whether virtually or in-person, these stores are sure to feed your beauty needs.
Lush – Lush, which has stores worldwide, was founded in 1995 with its first store being in Poole, England. Since then, the shop has expanded to 800 stores in 51 different countries. The store has everything you could ever want like body lotions and washes, makeup, face masks and more. Although the items are “effective products from fresh, organic fruit and vegetables, the finest essential oils and safe synthetics,” according to the website, they are still affordable unlike many organic products. One of our favorite products the store sells is its bath bombs. They seem to be slowly taking off, but still few stores sell them. They come in many differents shapes and scents and have different benefits, as well.
The Body Shop – The Body Shop is another best bet if you’re looking for organic and natural beauty items that are environmentally-friendly. Currently, the company has over 2,500 stores around the world. Our favorite product is one of the company’s best selling items. Cocoa Butter Body Butter stands out because it smells great and leaves your skin hydrated for 24 hours.
Bath and Body Works – Aside from the alluring smell, Bath and Body Works has so much to offer. From their classic scents to their aromatherapy line, from their candles to their air fresheners, it’s impossible to walk out of the store without buying at least one item. Their items are fairly priced and best of all, they always have different steals and deals going on. Sign up for emails to make sure you’re alerted about every sale. Our favorite item would have to be the aromatherapy stress relief three-wick candle. It’s so soothing and perfect after a long day or week of work. Plus, it pairs nicely with Lush’s bath bombs as a total de-stressor.
Fresh – Fresh, another shop dedicated to using natural ingredients, also tops our list. The first store opened in 1991 in Boston with the idea of providing upscale personal care products to the people of Boston. They now have 490 stores worldwide. Our favorite product is the Brown Sugar Body Polish, which has a little history in and of itself. In 1998 when the product was released it became the first sugar exfoliant in the beauty market and won numerous awards from Allure, Teen Vogue and InStyle magazines.
C.O. Bigelow – C.O. Bigelow was founded in 1838 in New York. While the apothecary is the oldest in America, the company has had some setbacks—they’ve closed all but one store in New York City. However, they still offer their products online and Bath and Body Works stores carry some of their items. They sell anything from makeup and hair products to skincare, body scrubs and more. Our favorite is a line of lip shines and balms, especially the products with Mentha in it. They leave your lips smooth and give you a minty fresh feeling, as well.
