Every month, the Pink & Black team is asked to share their response to one question.
This month, they were asked to describe their 2014 in one word. Here’s what some of them had to say.
Hard. This year has been beyond stressful for me. It was the first year on my own post college, I had my first big girl job, my own apartment, moved in with my boyfriend, started paying off student loans and my car among other bills and to top it all off, I’ve been sick for about half the year.
Although a lot of great things have come from this year and I’ve learned a lot, I can’t wait for a fresh start in 2015.- Savannah Sawyer
Surprising. The year was full of surprises for me. Whether it was running into one of my favorite bands at a record store in Nashville, falling for one of my best guy friends, taking on new and challenging adventures or achieving goals I never thought I would, I definitely surprised myself this year. Fortunately, it was in a good way and I can’t wait to see what is in store for next year. I hope I never stop surprising myself.

New. Everything was new to me in 2014. From facing the real-world head on to moving out on my own to weighing out new financial and personal responsibilities, it has all been a completely different year from any other. I’m excited to see how I continue handling being an adult and growing into the role further next year. It’s all new to me, but I’m liking it.

Overwhelming. I wear a lot of hats. I’m a girlfriend and a young mom to a kindergartener. I work full-time and I have 2 dogs. I’m also a homeowner. I juggle so many things and this year has been the toughest year yet. I sometimes feel like I am just going break but, with a little New Year’s resolution making to become more organized and better with time management, I’m hoping to be able to handle all my responsibilities with a bit more ease so that I can learn to stop and smell the roses and enjoy life way more.
