We’re very happy to announce our brand new Stringer Program!
Unlike our internship program or a staff position, a stringer doesn’t make any commitments to us. Think of it as a freelance gig, without the contract. Like all of the other Pink & Black positions, this is unpaid and stringers will work from home.
How It Works
Once a month, stringers will receive an email from an editor asking for pitches on future stories. If your pitch(es) is(/are) good, you’ll be asked to write the story and will be given a deadline. You may pitch as many story ideas as you would like between a certain timeline.
Stringers will submit their stories through email and will receive a byline and all of the recognition for the pieces they contribute. If a story is not up-to-par, the stringer will be contacted to make any necessary changes or the story will not be published.
The best part? Stringers can freelance as often as they would like with no commitments. If a stringer doesn’t feel like pitching one month, they don’t have to.
If you ever decide not to be a stringer anymore, we will be happy to remove you from the list.
Who Can Join
Anyone between the ages 18-28 may join. Currently everyone who submits the form within the age requirement will be on the email list.
The Rules
The only rule is to not miss your deadlines. If a deadline is missed, even once, you will be removed from the stringer program.
What are you waiting for? Sign up here! The first call for pitches will be emailed later this month.
