DIY Spa Day at Home

Spa days do wonders for your skin and stress levels but often at the expense of your wallet.

We have some our favorite ways to unwind without splurging. The best part? You don’t even have to leave your house!

Turn on some Enya and light some candles to recreate the relaxed atmosphere of a spa.

Bundle up in your comfiest bathrobe and grab some fresh towels for maximum comfort. Get the bath running and have a great soak in the tub. Don’t forget your favorite bath salts or bubble bath liquid for some aromatherapy.

Face Masks

DIY face masks are the perfect option for cutting costs and controlling what you put on your face. If you’re not a big fan of the chemicals in store-bought face masks, try this simple DIY face mask to cleanse your skin.

All you need is nutmeg, honey and cinnamon. Nutmeg and honey are anti-inflammatory, which is great for soothing skin and redness. Create this mask by mixing two tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon of nutmeg and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Mix it thoroughly before applying to your skin. Rock this DIY face mask for 30 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.

Hair Masks

Achieving hydrated healthy hair has never been so easy. Try this super simple recipe for luscious locks using ingredients you have at home.

Start by mashing half an avocado. Then, stir in one tablespoon of honey and one tablespoon of olive oil. Mix the ingredients well before applying the mask to your hair. Carefully work it into your hair and then let it sit for 30 minutes before thoroughly washing it out.

Body Scrub

There are tons of ways to create a body scrub in the comfort of your own home, but one of our favorite ways is to mix sugar and coconut oil together. The coconut oil hydrates your skin while the sugar’s grainy texture rubs off dead skin cells.

All it takes is combining a cup of coconut oil and around a third cup of sugar. This is an effortless way to get smooth and soft skin.

Nails

With tons of nail tutorials online, it’s easier than ever to achieve salon quality results in the comfort of your own home. We love exploring Pinterest and Instagram to find fun, creative designs.

Start by clipping and filing your nails. Next, apply some cuticle oil to soften your cuticles. Once that’s done, soak your nails in a bowl of warm water and then push your cuticles back. Buff your nails before applying a base coat. We love this all-in-one nail buffing block for quality results from Revlon. After applying your base coat, pick your nail color and design for an easy at-home manicure.

Spa days don’t have to set you back financially. You can achieve quality results using ingredients you already have in the kitchen. Grab some of your friends and try out these DIY recipes to help you relax and rejuvenate.
