Holiday Decorations You Can Use Year-Round

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas… but what happens after the holiday, when all your decorations have to come down? Well, we’ve got news for you, they don’t have to go away! We’ve got some decorations that will work year round, no matter the holiday or the season.

Place Vases

Clear vases in a variety of sizes can be filled with small items to give your home a sense of the holidays without overkilling it. Group them together on your dining room table, in your living room or in the foyer to spread holiday cheer year round. Pine branches and cranberries can spread rustic Christmas cheer around your apartment, conversation hearts add a sweet touch for Valentine’s Day or cobwebs and plastic spiders can create a spooky conversation piece. In the off season, fill the vases with sea glass, fresh flowers, or anything else that strikes your fancy and emulates the current season.

Light It Up

Twinkling white lights aren’t just for your Christmas tree! String them up around windows or over your bed to provide a warm, homey glow any time of the year. You could also try this easy DIY in different color combinations that coordinate with holidays or your décor to keep things festive and fun.

Save Those Ornaments

If you use simple bulb ornaments in a rainbow of colors for the holidays, you can easily use certain color combinations for decorating throughout the rest of the year. Break out the red, white and blue ones for the Fourth of July, use pink and red bulbs to decorate for Valentine’s day, or use the orange ones for some fun Halloween flair.

Decorate Your Door

A simple wreath is an easy way to dress up the outside of your home without completely breaking the bank. Pick up a plain wreath like this one from your local craft store, along with some supplies to change it for each season. Attach some fake leaves and a turkey cutout to it for Thanksgiving, wrap it in red and green or blue and silver ribbon for Christmas or Hannukkah, and cover it with faux flowers for Spring! The possibilities are as unlimited as your imagination is.
