College is a transition period between high school and the real world filled with knowledge and new experiences.
The grace period is almost over, and it’s time to begin growing up. So in order to balance growing up with what is likely the last year of freedom, here’s what you have to do your senior year of college.
The first, and probably he most important thing, is to write a great resume. Many schools have a career center on campus with the sole purpose of helping students and alumni find jobs after graduation. They will help perfect a resume, assist with cover letters, aid in the job search and basically provide any job related service necessary. However, before arriving, have a resume already completed.
Add to your resume by doing an internship during your senior year. It may end up turning into a full-time job, and they can also provide networking opportunities while teaching important skills.
Now onto the fun stuff. It’s been four years of exams, papers and 8:00 a.m. Monday morning classes. Treat yourself to a vacation! There are so many ways to do it cheaply that it’s likely to be around no more than $700. This list provides 10 low-key places to visit.
This one is more of a habit that should be acquired senior year as opposed to a singular act. In a senior’s life, it’s time to finally accept wine as your one true love. After all, it may be almost time to put the “I can drink vodka and tequila shots at noon on a Wednesday” mentality to bed. Single or taken, a night with a bottle of wine is the best way to relax for every twentysomething. Seriously, just go on BuzzFeed, and check out thegreat wine related posts.
Sure, growing up is hard, but it’s also amazing to start a new chapter of life. So live it up for one more year and never stop learning.
