Entertainment memorabilia can often seem tacky.
It comes in many forms, and it usually only belongs in a high school bedroom or college dorm. That doesn’t have to be the case. There are numerous ways to transition to adult decorating without having to ditch the merch of your youth.
Forget all those articles about furnishing your first apartment.
If you are on a budget, excess furniture is often hard to come by. However, you’ve likely got tons of entertainment memorabilia. This takes the form of DVDs, books, CDs, magazines, posters, action figures, or any other random assortment of themed goods based on your interests. This, combined with the bare necessities of a bedroom like a dresser, bookshelf, or desk, is all you’ll need.Blend your style by placing books and other things you need to store on a bookshelf. Mix comic books, DVDs, or action figures with small plants or framed pictures. Ticket stubs, playbooks, or other evidence of concert/show attendance can go together nicely in a frame. It keeps them out of boxes or the trash.
Besides shelves, you can use posters, prints, or pictures for wall décor. It is absolutely essential to buy a frame. Once you have your own apartment, it no longer feels good to walk in after a long day at work to see something on your wall held up by tape. Also perfect for walls are large tapestries or sheets that feature characters. They can even take up entire walls. If your bedding has any entertainment theme, buy regular bedding and just hang the old set.
A few miscellaneous tips: don’t just confine your possessions to your bedroom. Double platform coffee tables, the tops of kitchen cabinets, TV stands, and windowsills are all perfect spots for your memorabilia.
Just make sure it is able to withstand those conditions.Feel free to use atypical things as decorations. Hang wearable merchandise on the walls. Hats and backpacks make great decorations if they are hung high enough like you would hang framed art. It’s original and still has the potential to look good.
The big thing with all of these tips is to really embrace them as art. It’s your hobby and passion being displayed. The important thing is to make everything look cohesive and like it was placed there with a purpose.
