You saw them on your TV growing up.
Before Miley, Selena and Demi, there were the real Disney channel stars. But what have they been up to since they left their roles on Disney Channel? We found out.
Hilary Duff
Lizzie McGuire is all grown up! She and former husband, hockey player Mike Comrie, had a son, Luca in 2012.
They are currently separated trying to figure out how they can both be “the most happy.” Career-wise, in the 10 years Lizzie McGuire has been off the air, Duff has continued acting, taking parts in movies, guest roles in shows like Gossip Girl and Two and a Half Men and a few indie films. She co-wrote the bestselling YA book “Elixir” and has recorded a new album, which is set to release sometime soon, after being delayed in August. But, while we wait for the full album, listen to the hit single “All About You.”Raven-Symoné
The That’s So Raven and Cheetah Girls star created a lot of controversy when she recently was featured on Oprah’s series “Where Are They Now?” When asked about her sexual orientation, Raven-Symoné responded that she didn’t like labels, and that she does not identify herself as any one particular thing. “I am an American,” she said. Since her Disney Channel days, Raven has been in a few films, as well as voicing fairy Iridessa in various animated Tinker Bell movies.
Christy Carlson Romano
When she left Disney, Christy starred in the Broadway version of Beauty and the Beast in 2004. In 2008, she continued her Broadway career by starring in Avenue Q. Since then, she’s been featured in multiple TV movies, and has stepped behind the camera too. Right now, she’s producing the films Prism and Bear With Us.
Shia LaBeouf
Shia has remained firmly planted in the spotlight since his Even Stevens days. He’s starred in multiple films, including the famed Transformers franchise, and most recently, the film Fury. He has also directed and produced several shorts. However, LaBeouf hasn’t been the shining, loved star that he used to be. In February, LaBeouf caused controversy with his live performance piece #IAMSORRY piece, in which viewers were allowed to see him one at a time, with their choice of props. LaBeouf confessed over an email interview recently that he was raped by one woman at the performance, though it cannot be confirmed. He also wrote a series of graphic novels, but was later accused of plagiarism, and dropped out of a Broadway show he was going to costar with Alec Baldwin, citing “creative differences.”
Ricky Ullman
Though he may not be in many TV shows or movies nowadays, the former star of Phil of the Future stars in his own films… On Vine! He creates hilarious short clips around New York City featuring himself, his friends and sometimes stuffed animals and other props. When he’s not making Vines, Ricky (who now goes by his birth name, Raviv), plays in a band called Raputante.
Tahj, Tina & Tamera Mowry
The real life sisters (and brother) have remained onscreen since their days on Disney Channel. Together, the twins starred in their own reality show, Tia & Tamera. The show wrapped early this year, so that the sisters could each focus on their next projects. Tia is working on her new show Instant Mom while Tamera works on the next season of her talk show The Real. They’re also working on releasing a book together about, you guessed it, twins. “Twintuition: Double Vision,” the first title in the series, is set to be released in April. As for Tahj, he is continuing his acting career starring on the ABC Family show Baby Daddy.
