Until recently, I hadn’t known how to utilize Pinterest to its fullest potential. Having seen too many “wedding boards” created by young, single women, I shunned Pinterest like it was an old friend who had done me wrong. But—much to my pleasure—I had misjudged Pinterest.
Upon better inspection I came to the conclusion that Pinterest is just like Google… but with pictures!Being an avid Googler myself, I couldn’t have been happier with my new-found-appreciation for Pinterest. Pinterest made it easier to determine which webpages I was interested in reading, and also which to skip over. (A problem I often face while Googling.)
If you were like me and not into Pinterest, I encourage you to find a reason to go on (mine was a Halloween costume idea a few weeks ago) and Pinterest with a purpose. Listed below are some of my favorite Thanksgiving meals, all credited to Pinterest. I included some classics (with a twist) and a few wildcards I thought were too delicious to pass by. In the spirit of giving thanks, Pinterest and I are both grateful for second chances. Enjoy!
Cranberry Pepper Jelly Dip
Who doesn’t love a juxtaposition of flavors? It’s spicy, it’s sweet, it’s crunchy, it’s gooey. I can’t think of nothing better to snack on while awaiting the bird to come out of the oven and chatting up relatives.
Roasted Sweet Potatoes
How is it that sweet potatoes and sweet potato fries can taste nothing alike? The sweet potato is a little too sweet for my tastebuds, but I think this little recipe would be perfect for bridging the gap between fancy and fries.
Apple Pie Crescent Bites
A spin on a classic dish that is sure to impress even the most old school of Thanksgiving guests. (Just make sure to tell grandma her apple pie is still the best!)
Homemade Gravy From Scratch
Gravy goes on and with nearly everything on Thanksgiving Day. Make your day of thanks truly unique by creating your own gravy from scratch. Who knows, it could even become a tradition!
Pumpkin Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread with Vanilla Glaze
Just… yum.
Cornbread Stuffing
Spice up an old favorite with a new twist. Try this cornbread stuffing instead of the original to bring something new to the Thanksgiving table this fall.
